Show SUPREME COURT DECIDES IN FAVOR OF MORA HARBER in the case of mora lora M 1 I harber of richfield versus dr T R gledhill dr R G dark clark and the richfield hospital in which the defendants had been asses assessed sed to pay as damages to the plaintiff against which chich verdict they appealed to the supreme court the high tribunal reached a decision in favor of the plaintiff upholding the verdict the plaintiff had been operated on for appendicitis and while still unconscious was conveyed after the operation to a bed which had bad been heated by three hot water bottles these bottles had been placed there by a special nurse engaged by the patient before the operation on the order of the surgeons to remove the bottles two were taken out of the bed A third remained and came in contact with the u unconscious patients leg causing a severe burn which resulted in the action tor for damages the physicians and the hospital contended that the blame if any attached to the special nurse engaged by the patient and that an instruction st to the jury in regard to this was faulty but were overruled by y the supreme court |
