| Show sevier water users are facing serious litigations big suit will continue efforts to compromise fail utterly aver morse i acree has served its purpose will cost a million dollars pres R D young was in salt lake last week representing the water users of the sevier river in this part of the water system ot of the sevier and attended a meeting at the state engineers office where representatives of the millard county water users were present an attempt was made to compromise the big water suit that has been instituted by milliard county water users and pres P S young contended for a recognition of the priority rights of the water users on this end of the sevier system but without avail the contention is made mad by the millard county water users that the morse decree of distribution has served its purpose and that new conditions have arisen that demand a complete redistribution of the sevier i river system and nothing short of this will satisfy them the fact that this redistribution and the attendant litigation bringing in as it does thousands of water users will cost more than does not deter the plaintiffs from es saying to secure the setting aside of ot the morse decree and securing a complete revision of awatar rights along the river from its source to its end this promises to be the biggest water case in the history of irrigation in in utah as the sevier system lias has probably the biggest watershed area of any stream in the state the river travels through and furnishes water for garfield plute flute sevier and all lard counties equities the soil irrigated through these counties is of such a nature that though all al the water from the river may be turned into canals along the route and spread over the lands it eventually finds its way back to the river channel and is used over and over again before reaching millard county pres young can see no escape from the litigation as all efforts at a compromise were refused by the plaintiffs plain plaint tifis ids in the case |
