Show WHAT I 1 HAVE SEEN IN THE CLO CLOUDS by A I 1 have sat and watched the clouds move by like a mountain of fleecy roll and watched the shapes that they formed in the sky while wonder subdued my soul grand and majestic the forms they took while the azure sk sky peered through billows and streams wherever you look streams formed from the sky so blue a fairy tale for children to see spread out in the heavens above young faces would shine in perfect glee As they looked on this picture or of love I 1 have traced out faces of grand old men As it if carved by the sculptors hand I 1 traced the smile of a mothers kind face A smile that the heavens planned I 1 have seen volcanoes in a turbulent mood As it if angered to look below I 1 have seen the bunny in search for his food yet watchful in dread of his foe I 1 have seen great lakes embellished willi wih trees that stood on the opposite bank ivo seen their tall tops bend down with the breeze As if bowing their heads to give thanks ive seen mountains and hills and meadows and rills OL all up in the beautiful sky yet they never would stay but keep passing away still nodding a pleasant goodbye good bye and ive thought how like life with its pleasures and strife we have billows and havens of rest how we never stand still but move on with a will to tho the goal at which alch mortals are blessed the sky may be clear but its sameness makes drear As A s monotony takes away pleasure we long for a change of valley or range and the change of itself is a treasure there will come a time when enjoyment sublime of which mortals on earth will be proud but at present the glad is mixed with the sad As we all live under a cloud |
