Show DISEASED HOOFS OF CATTLE S one trouble caused by excessive wet I 1 weather Is hard to manage la is is i not contagious A 6 not all hoof disease in cattle Is the hoof and mouth disease there la one form of hoof disease which Is eg cs achilly P hard to manage is caused by excessively wet weather and cattle having to be almost continually in the mud we had a case of this kind tills this spring says a writer in an exchange the inner parts of the hoofs become very sore and tender and will finally become rotten if not cred cored for in time we had a veterinarian prescribe treatment was kept up for or ii a time without apparent results for the i better then being very busy at corn planting time the treatment was neglected and the animal got so it would walk on the toes the back part of the hoof wits was so tender we again tried 1 the treatment but the animal got worse and worse until it was a walk in ing skeleton and could no longer stand up when we put it out of its misery and dug a hole for the remains wo we know this was not contagious as tho the other cattle were not affected in the i f least |
