Show OPERA SINGERS GIVEN OVATION ATI famous salt lake qui quintette well received in richfield the salt lake opera quintet appeared at the high school auditorium last tuesday evening and gave richfield one of 0 the best musical treats that this city has ever enjoyed the performers are all popular musicians of salt lake city and lived up thoroughly to their well established popularity ul fred C graham grahach mH H S ensign ada dwyer and mrs atkinson made up the quartette of singers while beek beck almond served as accompanist pa the entertainment opened with a series of the lighter popular songs which got the audience in a good humor and set them listening missal miss almond then took the audience up th the e heights with a marvelously artistic rendition of rhapsody no 8 by liszt she was heartily encored and graciously responded with another selection of equal power the well known and always appreciated quartette from was thoroughly well rendered and as well received mrs atkinson n delighted the audience with a very acceptable rendition of until and somewhere a voice is calling 1 the next section of the program was a series of solos in lighter vein each soloist being supported in the retrain refrain by the company these numbers proved to be very pleasing features I 1 after two other piano selections by miss almond the laughing song by ensign and graham the rosary by the company the evening was concluded by tile the Sex from lucia altogether the company gave a high class entertainment we suggest suggest however that when the quartette appears in this city again as we trust they shall they modify their program and give us more of the classic and a little less of the lighter stuff they will find that richfield music lovers will receive them even more enthusiastically than they did on this occasion the entertainment was a financial success and the high school is to be commended for bringing to this ibis city such a high class and popular grade of entertainment the quintette appeared in elsinore EI wednesday evening and in salina thursday evenin evening |
