Show PROMINENT CITIZEN TO LEAVE RICHFIELD joseph johnson will begin life anew in the virgin 4 uintah basin the third ward chapel was the scene of a f fai ai ewell party last saturday evening given in honor of joseph johnson and family who have decided to make their home in the Uinta hs A month or more ago mr johnson visited that section 0 of the state becoming greatly interested in its prosperity and the POEs possibilities bill bili ties lying in wait for new settlers he returned to richfield with the fixed idea of making his future home in the uintah region and since then his mind has bas frequently reverted to that fertile portion of the state which is being so r rapidly settled by well todo to t o do people from all I 1 parts of utah then he went to work and disposed of some of his property in this valley but not succeeding in finding a purchaser for his beautiful home on second north street in richfield he had the uintah fever in its most aggravated form and is showing no signs of convalescence vales cence the en entertainment bertain then t in the third ward chapel last saturday evening was largely attended by the friends and neighbors of mr johnson it was a gathering of people who had known him and his family during a long period of time the evening was spent in a very pleasing manner music speechmaking speech making and felicitous talk occupying tile the major part of the program before adjournment journ ment a splendid luncheon was served and goodbyes good byes and best wishes cordially extended joseph johnson is one of the best known business men in richfield he has been local manager of the con wagon and machine company hete here during the past seven years and has demonstrated his bu business iness tact and his capability to supervise such a big establishment to his asso chates cT ates his patrons arid and the public in general he is a man manewith I 1 with an army of friends theoti throughout r hou t the valley he is honest capable efficient affable and courteous to everybody and it is a blow to richfield to have him sever his associations with a people among whom he has so long dwelt he and mrs johnson and the children who will accompany li h m to the uintah region have endeared themselves to many intimate friends who will part from them with regret everybody in richfield without a single axce exception tion wishes them prosperity health and happiness in their new home mr johnsons johnsona connection idith with the can company began mote moie than 20 s ago when ho he was a resident of piute diute county he removed to this city seven years ago and continued the pleasant relations he had always enjoyed with his firm his employers have always held him in esteem for his business methods and his hustling qualifications and even they regret that he is to leave their employ mrs johnson and two children left here tuesday for their new home and it if is needless to say that they shed tears in parting with their many tried and true fi tends friends the reaper realer knows joseph johnson as one of the best business men who ever left richfield it too regrets to see him leave here but it predicts that he will prosper in his naw home and will never forget tie glorious old valley of the sevier he has purchased a large ranch under cultivation near roosevelt and it is at this latter town that he will vill make headquarters mr johnson will not leave here immediately A new manager is to be named to to succeed him and he will remain with him a short time to make him acquainted with the business and the companas comp anys patrons |
