Show commercial CLUB MEETS last evenings session of the commercial club was unusually well attended in spite of the fact that the weather conditions were very unfavorable D B jensen the newly elected president presided and secretaries A W B bird and W 0 erickson were at the desk A good round of applause came forth from the club members when promptly at the appointed hour for opening president jensen let his gavel fall and declared that his first official act in in c connection with the club would woud be to open the meeting promptly at the appointed time and that this would be his policy during his in c in office four new applications for membership were accepted the trea jurers report showed a cash balance very much in excess of on the favorable side of the ledger A sort of definite plan for action for the ensuing year was discussed and the members assured by the presiding officer that he would attempt to have something of importance for their consideration on each meeting night A very important matter one that greatly concerns every citizen in richfield and vicinity was discussed at length and after appoint appointing inga a very competent committee to make all necessary essaiy investigation the question was booked as a special order of business for the next meeting which is to be held on the evening of thursday june at 0 clock N P peterson appeared in behalf of the farmers south and east of the city and asked that the club lend its assistance in any way possible in the opening of a street along the D R G railroad track along the est erst side of the city to the beet dumping station A committee consisting of alessi s A K hansen and peter nelson was appointed to act w th mr Peter in looking u ui probable cost etc for pi presentation esen tation to the city council |
