He was cleaning the furnace at the school house where he has been janitor for many years, when a piece of carbon car-bon got in his eye. He received medical aid but was advised to go to a specialist. Word has just been received that his eye sight will not be affected. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. recov-ery. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Nelson and family of Moroni and P. W. Allen All-en and William Swensen of Mag;-na Mag;-na spent Wednesday evening at the home of A. P. Anderson. The Home Economics club held their monthly meeting last Friday Fri-day afternoon at the City Community Com-munity Hall. A program and refreshments re-freshments were enjoyed. They tpenscred a dance in the evening. Prizes for the best waltzers were won by Billy Walker of Moroni and Hannah Johnson, and Euleda Bailey of Moroni and Scott Cook. Mrs. Ace Blackham and baby of Moroni returned home Sunday after af-ter a months visit with her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Mary A. Mikkelsen. Mr. and Mrs. Niels Lund gave a shower Saturday night in honor of the newly weds, Mr. and . Mrs. Acel Lund. A program, games, a one act play and dancing were enjoyed. Refreshments were served. serv-ed. The young couple received many beautiful and useful gifts. The bride was formerly Miss Ed-dice Ed-dice Christensen of Moroni. Sherman Lund and family of Salt Lake and Floyd Lund and family of Eureka, Calif, came home to attend the shower for Mr. and Mrs. Acel Lund and returned re-turned home this week. Urban MaJson and family spent four days last week visiting at Bothwell, Utah with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Anderson. Mrs. Melissa Samuels returned home this week after having had a pleasant trip in California with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Taylor of Long Beach. The Gloom Busters club surprised sur-prised President J. R. Christiansen at his home Wednesday evening. Games and refreshments were enjoyed. en-joyed. . Mary Barentson and Etta Rasmussen Ras-mussen entertained the Zious Girls primary class Monday afternoon after-noon at the home of the latter. Sixteen girls were present. Games were played and refreshments were served. One of the most successful socials so-cials of the season was held at the home of Mrs. Rena Crowther on Sunday evening where the new officers and members of the Ladies Lad-ies Literary club entertained in nonor oi tne outgoing omcers ine hostesses were Mi's. Crowther, Mrs F. D. Smyth, Mrs. C. T. Christiansen Chris-tiansen and Mrs. N. M. Jensen assisted in serving by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Coulsen. The retiring officers were Mrs. J. H. Mikkelsen, Mrs. J. F. Robertson, Mrs. C. S. Augason and Mrs. H. P. Olson. Other club members present were Mr. and Mrs. Niels Christiansen, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Allred, John H. Snow, J. F. Robertson, C. S. Augason, F. D. Smyth, C. T. Christiansen, N. M. Jensen and Mrs. Bertha Christiansen. At 7 o'clock a hot supper was served Games were played and before the guests left at 12 o'clock beer and cake was served. Mrs. Max Sundby of Rigby, Idaho Ida-ho visited for a few days this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Allred. Mrs. Warren Jensen of Salt Lake City spent several days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Averil Larson. The men are busy these days preparing for" shearing at various places. The ladles who will do the cooking for them have already gone and they are all anxious toi get back to work again. |
