Requests for the services serv-ices of this motor tour planning service far ahead of 1930, according accord-ing to the statement of the Bureau director. "In offering the services of our bureau to the public to plan every detail of the automobile trip, furnish maps, etc., we find a rapidly increasing in-creasing response. A staff of over a score of trained people is requires in our Denver headquarters to route tours, mark maps, issue information in-formation and attend to the myriad details of helping the American motorist to see America and enjoy it." Karstedt further states that the growing response to the no-cost services of the Conoco Travel Bu-leau Bu-leau is largely due to the effective newspaper advertising. "We are advertising this service in newspapers newspa-pers more widely this year than last," he says, "approximately 400 newspapers are carrying our advertising ad-vertising messages to more than 10,000,000 readers. "Jn our advertising we are urging urg-ing the motorist to take a motor vacation. Wc stress the scenic beauties and historically interesting interest-ing sports of America and endcavoi to create an urge to see them. In addition wc outline our tour-plannig tour-plannig service and tell of tho Conoco Passport which entitles the holder to special courtesies at service serv-ice stations along the road. "The greater part of this advertising ad-vertising is Just now appearing, but early returns assure us that many thousands of motorists will respond. It seems certain that I here will b2 a considerably larger number of motor vacationists this year than last." |
