Show New Plan for County Exhibits , at State Fair County aricullural exhibits in-the U::h Slate Fair ihis year, October 4 to 11, will h judged on the basis of tjie value of 'he crop, to Utah, rather' than on the varieties of crops as heretofore, here-tofore, ncrnrjinr in . made today by Ernest S. Holmes, manager. "We believe the counties can benefit bene-fit umlcr this new arrangement," avi Mr. Holmes, "because lh- purpose of the blate Fair is to develop recognition recogni-tion for the outstanding products of the State. By encouraging each county to fealure the particular agricultural, horticultural or field crop which is its most valuable commercial product this can be accomplished. U'e have submitted the idea to county agents and boards of county commissions and find them, without exception, heartily iu accord with the idea. From prcs- I ent indications, the interest displayed in the Slate Fair this year is fully equal to, if not greater than years past. The Agricuhural Building is assured of being filled to capacity with exhibils which will place this State on display before its people. The United Slates Fore.-t Service is already working on a display which promises to be one of the most interesting in-teresting in the building." .. I |
