An-c-ncan Red Cross to distribute to "needy and distressed people," a '-ecru in? to a letter received Tuesday by Director William P-Loioon P-Loioon of the Utah State Agri-' cultural college extension service from A. L. Schafer, manager oi : the Pacific branch of the Red : Cress. "This ccmes as a God-send to many people in the state who are suffering because of feed and food shortage," said Director Fe-teison Fe-teison in commenting r.n the gitt as announced by Mr. Schafer. "All the counties in Utah were included includ-ed because of the drouth of lu3l and because of the depressed conditions con-ditions of many families in this state," said Director Peterson. Those who are desirous of obtaining ob-taining some of this wheat should make their wants known to the county unit of the Red Cross Application Ap-plication blanks will be furnished and assistance given by officers in charge. Director Peterson said that although the distribution oi the wheat was not to be handled by the extension service in any way, still the county agents will stand ready at any time to assist as-sist needy farmers in securing the nece; sary information to make proper application to the Red Cross organization. "Many cases have come to our attention lately, showing that families in Utah have no feed for their livestock nor can they obtain ob-tain credit to purchase it. This gift of the Farm Board through the Red Cross should materially relieve the suffering in this state" Director Peterson concluded. |
