Show "What Makes a Better Home?" The Better Homes Campaign in Mt. Pleasant was very satisfactory to the National Council of Better Homes in Washington, D. C. The city cooperated in a splendid way almost every organization taking tak-ing part in some way. This was greatly appreciated and wUl result in estimable good ln our community. commun-ity. A poster contest was featured in which the students of Wasatch won out. The posters were excellent ex-cellent and reflect credit on the. Art Department of the school. One of these was selected to be sent to the National headquarters a Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. An essay contest "What Makes a Better Home" was also carried out. Many students of North Sanpete High and Wasatch Academy Acad-emy entered this contest. Nine compositions were selected to go to the judges. The judges were Mrs. L. R. Chris tensen, Mr. Joseph Poncel and Mrs. F. J. Neilson. These judges awarded first place to Miss Maxie Olson, second to Miss Nina Neilson and third to Ray I. Johansen. The money for prizes was presented pre-sented to the Better Homes Committee Com-mittee by Mrs. Tressa L. Ericksen for the Home Culture Club, Mrs. J. Seymour Jensen for the Twentieth Century Club and Mrs. Leonard Seely for the Junior Literary Club. Next Sunday, June 29, 1930 these prizes will be awarded at the meeting meet-ing of the Civic League to be held at the North ward chapel at 3:30 p. m. Miss Maxie Olson will read lier prize essay at this meeting to which the public is invited. |
