Show Quick and Economical Way to Repair Blow-Out ! A rapid and economical way to re pair a blow-out on the road Is to lace up the tear with ordinary wire holt lacing. To make a good repair job lu fifteen or twenty minutes, cut away the loose rubber around the blow-out so you can extend the lacing an Inch or so beyond each end of the break. i Then with hat pin or sharp, small I nail punch a number of holes along the edges of the cut, being careful to make t':t them equidistant and not loo close together to-gether or too near the sides of the ,jrt opening. Next lace up the cut with the wire lacing, using only one strand to each hole and keeping the tension of the wire strands as uniform as possible. pos-sible. A double row of wire lacing. a one over the other, will be much H stronger than the single row. You must b sure to place n piece of can-, can-, vas. cardboard or leather Inside the casing, over the laced part, to pre- vent injury to the inner tube by chaf-'s chaf-'s Inc. which would otherwise occur. The wire iac'ng employed should be y the best obtainable to insure sufficient tensile strength combined wiih the fi necessary resistance to torsion and ti,.: flexion. For an old shoe such a repair will prove very satisfactory without golD to thr. expense of vulcanization. |
