Show WEDDINGS The marriage of Miss Ruth Candland and Calvin William Rawlings of Salt Lake City took place Saturday morning, September 21), at eleven o'clock in the Mant i Temple. Following the ceremony the parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. W. S Rawlings, gave a wedding breakfast for the bridal party and members of ithe famillies of the young couple at the Savoy Hotel at Manti. In the evening a reception was given by the brides parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Candland, Cand-land, at the family home. Tnu bridal party stood in a bower of ferns and garden flowers, , shades of pink being the dominating dom-inating note. The bride wore ,i Rone'e model of white (georgette beaded in crystal beads with a tulle veil caught (wun orange blossoms. rsiie carried a shower boquet of brides roses and lilies of the valley. , ( She was attended by Miss Berniece Derrick who wore lavender chiffon and carried pink roses tied with a bow ot blue tulle, Miss Afton "Wright jwho wore n frock of blue chif-I chif-I fon trimmed with silver lace (and carried pink roses tied (with a bow of deep pink tulle; (and Miss Edna Gannett who (wore a frock of coral chiffon (and carried pink roses tied j with a bow of lavender tulle. , Junius Jackson of Provo was I best man. French marigolds in brown baskets tied with bows of crimson crim-son tulle were used in the living liv-ing room to carry out the colors , of the Lambda Phi Lambda (sorority of the University of (Utah to which the bride (belongs. In the dining room a (color scheme of lavender and (pink was carried out. The (table was covered with a cluny (lace cloth and had for a center-( center-( piece a crystal bowl of laven-;der laven-;der and shell pink asters. (Crystal candlesticks held tall .lighted candles of pink tied (with lavender tulle. The ices; and candies were also carried jout in the same color scheme. jMrs. R. W. Candland was in charge of the dining room and (was assisted by the following) I sorority sisters of the bride:! Miss Iris Brough of Nephi, I Miss Ruth Barnard, Miss' Gladys Rich, Miss Virginia Budd all of Salt Lake, and Miss j Berniece madsen. Music was , furnished by Miss Ruth Bar- inard, Miss Marjorie Winters,, ' and Mrs. P. C. Petersen. As the bride entered the din-ring din-ring room the members of the j 'l sorority circled round her and) 'sang the Lambda Phi Lambda ("Marriage Song" composed , (by Miss Gladys Rich. i Mr. and Mrs. Candland were, assisted in receiving by Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Rawlings Mrs., 0 R Dibblee, Mrs. E. S. Walker Walk-er and Mrs. Guy Candland. The young couple left immediately imme-diately for a trip to the Pacific Coast The bride wore a go-ing-awaysuit of Panne velaine in beaver shade trimmed with kolinsky, with hat shoes and gloves to match.
