Show Official End Controversy Mexico City. Mexico's bitter religious reli-gious controversy, which has sorely strained the business interests of the country, set the government and Roman Ro-man Catholic church in strongly opposite op-posite positions and concentrated the an::icus attention of the world on this republic, appears to be in a fair way to amicable adjustment through personal per-sonal conferences between President Ca'.le.s and the prelates. It is confidently confi-dently hoped by the episcopate that an agreement will be reached, unless unf'jiSiicn obstacles develop. President Presi-dent Calles Sunday night cordially receive'! re-ceive'! two high dignitaries of the church, the Most Rev. Leopold Ruiz Y. Florez, archbishop of Michoacan and Bishop Diaz of Tabasco, at the presidential palace, and a statement issued by the episcopate after the conference con-ference described it as "truly satisfactory." |
