Show John Dickinson Sherman Readers of The Pyramid who have commented many times on the fine quality of the articles appearing under the name of John Dickinson Sherman in our columns, will be interested in-terested in learning a little about the personality of the writer. As a Dickinson Mr. Sherman is an eighth-generation American, while as a Sherman he is ninth in descent from Puritan ancestors, making him a 100 per cent American. Four of his family are immortals: Roger Sherman was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence; Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman was the famous Civil war general; his brother John, was Secretary of State under McKinley, and was the man who forced the resumption of specie payments; pay-ments; while James Schoolcraft Sherman, Sunny Jim," was Vice President under Taft. With such a record it would be practically impossible for Mr. Sher- : man to avoid giving a solid American background to most of his stories, and those who read him regularly 1 will become better citizens through the inspiration derived from them.
