Clairenee Anderson was marshall of the day and -led the parade down '.lain street to the depot and back to ,'he Assembly Hall. Special mention was given 'he Progress Merc, and the "Bucking ''ord." At the public Meeting in Social Hall at 10.30 o'clock the home-lo'iners home-lo'iners were welconned by Mayor Robert IT. Hin-ckley, and state sen-it-dr W. D. Candland delivered a.n address in commemoration of the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of .he battles of Lexington and Coru-erd, Coru-erd, emphasizing the part the fairrn-rs fairrn-rs have played in the development if our 'nation. A fine musical program v-as -presented in connection with the i:e':cises. The rodeo and horse racing and iall games have ' attracted large rowds from the entire county each day. The rodeo was exceptionally good. Ul the boys taking part in the riding if old Strychnine and the rest of the 'outlaw" horses and cattle at the ark are to be commended for the plendjid show they put on. The races were fine, and the ball games were good. Manti won the tame from Mt. Pleasant with a score if eight to ten and Mt. Tleasant won '. rom Fairview with a score of 4 to 2. The festivities -Saturday concluded ilh a mammoth display of fire vorks at Wasatch campus, and danc-ng danc-ng at Riverside Park and Armory Hall. We are proud of our band and appreciate ap-preciate very much the splendid ,usic which they gave all during the celebration. The boxing bout Friday night was good. Ralph Mondt Knocked Joe Ferry out in the 2nd round. The exhibition between Ed. Shepherd and Ketch el the night before be-fore was worse than "punk". |
