Show Moro Chiefs Ask U. S. Control Iligan, Mandanao Carmi A. Thompson, Thomp-son, personal representative of President Pres-ident Coolidge, who is making a survey sur-vey of economic and political conditions condi-tions in the Philippines, received a petition signed by thirty Moro chiefs asking that the United States continue to govern them. The petition said: "We want the United States to continue con-tinue to protect our land and govern us." Some of the chiefs who called on Mr. Thompson enjoy the rank of sultan, sul-tan, in presenting the petition they requested Mr. Thompson to give it to President Coolidge as expressing the opinion of a majority of the Moros in Mandanai. The chiefs said they were satisfied with American officials, but disliked PhilipioH off'cials. |
