Show A CITIZEN'S CREED If you belong to a church you're , supposed to have a creed, and live f up to it. If you belong to a lodge ' you subscribe to its creed. I have , been thinking it over of late, and I i have devised a creed I feel every ' citizen can adopt with benefit to him- .. self in particular, and the whole ! town in general; one that we can ' all subscribe to and carry out as faithfully as we would carry out our religious creed or lodge obligations. dlere it is. .Memorize it, paste it in your hat, and then see how faithfully you can live up to it: "I believe in Mt. Pleasant and its possibilities, and I shall do my part , to make it a better place in which to live. j 'T believe in good government for my home town, and I shall assume my share of responsibility that rests on the shoulders of all our citizens. i "I believe iu supporting local enterprises en-terprises that help community development, de-velopment, and I will contribute my moral support and energy to any I movement for the best interest of the I town. j "I believe in patronizing home merchants and businessmen, for they ; fire greatly responsible for our having hav-ing good schools and churches and streets and roads. . "I will boost my home town at .every possible opportunity, and al-. al-. ways speak a good word for it where-, where-, ever I may be. I -will do my part : toward making it the best town in America because it is my HOME town." j Secretary, Mt. Pleasant Lions Club. |
