Show COUNTY FARM BUREAU HOLDS BOARD MEETING Recently a County Farm Bureau Executive committee meeting was held with the following fol-lowing present: Geo. B. Cox Jr. President; Burns Cox, Vice-Pres.; Vice-Pres.; L. D. Larson and N. A. Mikkelson, board members; P. P. Dyreng, Chairman Co. Commissioners, II. J. Webb, State Crop Pest Inspector; and C. 0. fStott, County Agent. The following were some of the things that Avere taken up in the meeting: Mr. Webb stated that the old crop pest law was unconstitutional and that the new law provides for districting state for the crop pest work but left no way for financing, however, it provided provid-ed that the County Commission ers could levy not to -.exceed 1"10 of one mill on all assessable assess-able property to finance inspec tors. Provided that the money was expended jointly by the county and state boards. Mr. Burns Cox thought that we should try and handle the inspection in-spection without further cost. The matter was left with a com mittee to confer with commissioners com-missioners and see what could be done. It was announced that a state marketing convention would be held in Salt Lake City on August 1, 2, and 3rd at wrich national experts will be present. Each local is urged to send a delegation to the imeetings. It was decided that the old contract with the Utah Farmer be renewed and that the County Coun-ty Bureau pay subscription foi each member to the Utah Farmer. It was also moved .and seconded that we stand behind be-hind the county commissioners in their present road building program of cement through the cities and gravel through the other districts and urge con 'tinuation of this kind of road work for at least the immediate ifuture.
