Show Oldest Citizen In Mt. Pleasant Passes Away Grandpa John Knudsen, Sr., aged ninety seven years, (he oldest ri-sident of -Ail. Pleasant, die,) Wednesday af-.ernoei'i, af-.ernoei'i, following a-three days illne-ss due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Aii'.uisen had bee-n in his usual good eaith and had attended both Sunday School and church services last Sun day. He was born in Christ iania, Nor ay. Oct. 17, 1S2S, and was married ;o Miss Karen Andersen of Vejle, Oenmark Aug. 21 ISS6.' After em-rac'ng em-rac'ng the Mormon faith, they began he loan arduous journey to Utah in iSC5. Their ohled daughter died on he Atlantic Ocean and was buried at ea and their oldest son, John Knu-d-en wii'i born on the plains while the ompany was enroute to Utah. Another An-other daughter Anna, wife of Magnus 3. Rolph, died Oct.S. 1S91 leaving hree small daughters, now Mrs. leor.ije Petei-son, Mrs. Leo Seely and Mrs. Vern G undersell, and these three rand daughters were reared by Mr. and Mrs . Knudsen.
