Show U. S. Sailors Given Ovation Honolulu. The most picturesque geeting extended to the officers, men and guests of the United States grand fleet thus far on its cruise was tendered by the Japanese community of Oahu. The welcome was in the form of a lantern parade in which hundreds of persons marched, representing repre-senting the varsity clubs of the Jap-enese Jap-enese colony. There were also many floats illuminated by thousands of lights. The procession extended for several miles and wound through the darkened streets of Honolulu to Io-lani Io-lani palace, where it was reviewed by Governor Wallace R. Farrington, Admiral Robert E. Coontz and the congressmen and newspaper men with the fleet. |
