At the regular meeting of the Lions Club held Wednesday evening Lhe followig new officers wene elcted for the ensuing year: President, V. L. Johnson; first vice-president, E. M. Hinckley and Joseph Matson. V. L. Johnson, the new president, Md A. L. Petersen were elected delegates del-egates to attend the Lion's Inter-iiMn-ml Convention in San Francisco, Francis-co, J.jJy 19 to 24. The city council through one of rho council men, Paul Monson extended ex-tended an invitation to the Lion-T '"lub to take initiative ?teps in .preparing .pre-paring for & mammoth two day pa- ilotic celcihrtion on July 5 and 6. An appro priation of 'TOO has been made by :he citv n.i.minstration to promote the ,'eleibration. The nevt meeting of the Lions Club, on June 23 will be a luncheon in hono'r of the Rev. A. V. Boand a charter .member of (the club, who is 'eavin.g for New York about the first of July. Captain Wendell Clemensen of the rrrukr army recently stationed at Fort Denning, Ga. together with Mrs. lemensen and two small sons, Rob--t and Wendell, Jr. are guests of Captain Clemensen's father, the Rev. N. E. Clemensen and other Mt. Pleasant relatives. Rev. Clemensen will join the party and will motor to San Firansisco to visit relatives. Later Captain Clemensen Clem-ensen will bo transferred to his new post in Washington. |
