Show A united elTort is being made by the federated clubs of Sanpete County to persuade the tax payers of Sanpete County to vote for proposed county road bond issue. Last Wednesday afternoon a special spe-cial road meeting of the fedora' ion was held at the North Sanpete High School building at Mount Pleasant. There were present from the several towns of the county: MANTI Ellis Johnson, A. II. Christ ensen, F. M. Cox, Jr, Alex Tennant, Sr. and S. P. Peterson. Fairview Dr. B. S. Uigby. Gunnison Adolph Peterson. Chas Rasmusson. and N. L. Itermansen. Ephraim H. F. Rasmusson, H. P. Peterson, Martin Isaacson, Cleon Anderson and Nephi Christcnsen. CENTER FIELD C. E. Embly, W. R. Jensen, C. P. Larsen, George Peterson and Aswall Beck. WALES H. R. Thomas. These delegates together with a good representation from Mount Pleasant discussed the various phases phas-es of the road building program. F. H. Rasmiison of Ephraim was selected chairman of the meeting. C. E. Embly acting secretary. Executive Exe-cutive members of the federation present were S. M. Nielson of Mount Pleasant, Ellis Johnson of Manti, Niels L. Ilermansen of Gunnison, II. P. Peterson of Ephraim, and W. R. Jensen of Centerfield. The purpose of the meeting was to plan a campaign of the county for the purpose of showing the great benefits of the issue at hand. A short musical program was given giv-en by the high school. Miss Christie Clark sang " Dear Old Pal of Mine." The orchestra gave a selection and Louis A. Peterson, a trombone solo. Judge A. H. Christenson asked for a report of what had been done in the county for the bond issue and each district present reported that most of the people in their com-munties com-munties favored the proposed road program. Hon. Robert II. Hinckley made the statement that there were more htan 1225 automobiles in the county which would be about one automobile automo-bile lor every third family. The up keep of a car on bad roads over and ahove that of a car in good roads is approximately 1 cents per mile which will amount to about $75.00 per year additional to the average car. The farmer, too, is hit with a greut handicap when he has to travel over bad roads. Judge Christcnsen made a very plain talk to the 'delegates and In his remarks he stated that if Saniietj county did not come across with the very small amount asked in the proposed pro-posed road pragram we would lose the federal and state aid which would menu about $750,(10(1 loss to our county. The state and federal government will spent that money hern if we will do a small part. If we refuse to do it we will los'i it and then my tribute to some other co-imly said the J'lidge.
