Show MAYOR DECLARES WAR ONKU KLUX "TREAT THEM AS YOU 'WOULD REDS AND BOMB THROWERS' IS INSTRUCTION Preacher in Charge of Secret Society's So-ciety's Headquarters Announces Defiance at the Chief Executive's Ex-ecutive's Order New York. War on the Ku Klux klan by New York police, until the last klansman has been driven from the city, was ordered by Mayor John F. Hylan. The Rev. Oscar Haywood, evangelist of Dr. John Roach Stratton's Calvary Baptist church, is in charge and announced an-nounced defiance of Mayor Hylan's orders. or-ders. Haywood declared he would go to jail, if necessary, but that klan headquarters would remain open and recruiting would continue.
