Attacking on four sectors along' a front seven and a half miles from north of the Laffaux mill to the Froidinont Farm, the Germans were met by determined resistance on the part of the French and, sustaining heavy losses, were repulsed completely complete-ly except on the eastern end of the line between Hovel I es and Froidinont Froid-inont Farm.
