Anderson of Burnt 1'ork, Wyoming who spent the past week visiting -in Fairview, returned to her home this week., Miss Fay Miner left Thursday for Spanish Fork where she will attend school this winter. Mrs. A. U. Miner and Miss Laurel Miner are Salt Lake visitors this week. Magnes Stevens of Logan is visiting visit-ing friends and relatives in Fairview. Miss Hazel Jepson of Geneva is spending the week with triends In Fairview. Miss Erma Hales of Salt Lake City is visiting relatives in Fairview this week. . Miss Belva Cox, Mr. Stanley Cox, Max and Vera Cox returned home ' Wednesday from a tour through ' southern Utah. They visited Fish Lake, Bryce's Canyon, Zion's canyon,'1 Grand Canyon, and St. George. They had a very enjoyable trip On Monday evening Miss Laurel Miner entertained at a trousseau party at her home. Light refreshments refresh-ments were served to about twenty five guests. On Wednesday evening Elsie Lar-sen Lar-sen entertained at a card party at her home. Refreshments . were served to fourteen guests. On Tuesday evening Mrs. Carl Sundwall entertained at her home in honor of Mrs. H. P. Hansen, who will leave soon, with her family, for their home. The" evening was spent in games, music and social chat. Refreshments were served to the following: Mrs. H. P. Hansen, Mrs. H. S. Olsen, Mrs. .C P. Olsen, Mrs. E. H. Anderson, Mrs. L. C. Miner, Mrs. Bruce Cox, Mrs. John W. Christensen, Mrs. A. D. Christensen, Chris-tensen, Mrs. T. J. Fowles, Mrs. Daniel James, Mrs. George Olsen, Mrs. John R. Graham, Mrs. S. S. Sander-j son, Mrs. Hans Madse.n and the hostess. Sunday evening a chicken supper was given at the home of Miss Wel-tha Wel-tha Peacock. The time was spent in games and music. Those present were Miss Ardath Larsen, Miss Elsie Larseu, Miss Christa Olsen, Miss Weltha Peacock and Mr. Bernard Lasson, Mr. Neldon Young, Mr. Frefl Christensen, and Mr. Reed Sanderson. Sander-son. Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner announce the marriage of their daughter, Laurel to Delmar H. Dickson of Morgan Mor-gan on Friday, September 1st. in the Salt Lake Temple. They will spend the winter in Driggs, Idaho where Mr. Dickson Is head of the music department of the Driggs High School. The annual old folks party was held in Fairview Wednesday, August 30th. The old folks were taken in automobiles to the point of hill-top and back to the eclipse pavilion where a community table was set. After dinner a program was given and music was enjoyed by all present There were one-hundred thirty-five guests, thirty-five cars being used to escort the old people on the trip. The eight members of the general committee did very well in making t fr,r thn entertainment. a l i an gouivij w Time Stewart was present and has the distinction of having been acquainted ac-quainted with the prophet Joseph. Jordan Brady and wife were the oldest old-est couple, being 7 9 and 77 years respectively. They were married sixtey years- ago. The oldest mau. P C. Jensen, is S9 years. The oldest ladies, Mrs. Caroline Hansen and Mrs. John A. Pritchett, both 80 yaers were present. A group of the original pioneers of Fairview were arranged in a picture during the afternoon. Among them were Time Stewart and wife, Justus Jordan and wife, Simon Brady. Jordan Brady and wife, and Mrs. Salby Sanderson The day's program was one of area interest to the old people. Miss Vinta Christensen of Magna, Utah is-a guest of Miss Ellis Tucker this week. ' nn Albert Christensen and family arc leaving this week for Salt La. CKy where they expect to spend the winter. u. Miss Vonda Sanderson and Mi-Delia Mi-Delia Olsen of Mantl were Fairview visitors Saturday and Sunday. The Fairview North and South Ward Mutuals are to r.d.r the Conjoint program Sunday nttW. September 3rd. in the Mt. Pleasant North Ward chapel. The Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Mutuals are to render the Conjoint Con-joint program in the Fairview North Ward Chapel the same evening. A party of young folks met at the home of Miss Nellie Sundwall Tuesday Tues-day night, where refreshments were served, and the evening spent in games, singing and music. On Tuesday, August 29th. Miss Mae Sanderson entertained at a bundle shower for Miss Melba Mower. The evening was spent in games and music and refreshments were served. Those present were: Mearl Hurst. JosieNorman, Randa Madsen, Leah Sanders, Hilda Sanders, Varda Petersen, Peter-sen, Beatrice Pritchett, Gwen Christensen, Chris-tensen, Agatha Larsen, Alice Tucker, Melba Mower, and the hostess. |
