Mrs. Lonen Young, who spent thj past month as the guest of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kelsey, re-1 re-1 turned to her home in Emery County last week. Lavern Miner, who is attending school at the B. Y. U., spent the last week end at Fairview. Loren Anderson of Spanish Fork visited Fairview relatives last week. . :Mr. and Mrs. James H. Sanderson 'and Mr. and Blrs. Joseph Carlston of ,'Manti spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Fairview. . Miss Varda Peterson entertained Sunday evening in honor of her birthday birth-day anniversary. Gaines and music were enjoyed. A dainty luncheon 'was served to the following, Dorothy Anderson, Josie Norman, Leah Sanders, San-ders, Sarah Peterson, Goldie Terry, Merle Hurst, Randa Madsen, Agatha Larsen and Leona Gutherie, and Messrs Q. Graham, Frank Vance, Jiunius Howell, Edward Blanchett, Randall Turpin, Leo Clark, Leland Peterson, Clifton Christensen and Rulon Rasniussen. The social event of the week was a farewell testimonial given in honor of Bishop II. P. Hansen and counselors counsel-ors Burns Cox and E. II. Anderson. The celebration was given at the Eclipse pavilion. S. S. Sanderson actintu as master of ceremonies' The fallowing program was rendered. Singing "Come, Come Ie Saints," Praysr was offered by Jtlurns Cox. Singing, and then a speech of welcome wel-come by Bishop J. R. Graham. A 'vocal solo was given by Jesse L. young. Reading by Mrs. ' S. S. Sanderson. Ladies quartet under The direction of Mrs. George Olsen. Male quartet by Peter Sundwall.Jr. and Co. Presetation speech by (refer Peterson. Bishop Hansen, was presented with a gold watch and chain and his counsellors each with a 'set of silverware. Speeches were then given by Bishop Hansen, Burns Cox and E. H. Anderson. A chicken chick-en dinneer was served to nearly 500 people. The honored guests and aged people sat at tables, otheers 1 were served in caffetaria style. After dinner speeches were given by A. TJ. Miner, John L. Bench, S. S. Sanderson, Sander-son, Peter Sundwall, Sr., Amass Rasmussen, Wm, Cheney, Howard Rigby and others. A poem written for the occasion by Mrs. Carl Sundwall Sund-wall was read by George P. Olsen. The afternoon was spent in a social good time. Ice cream and cako was served at 4:30 to all. In the veneniu a dance for all married people peo-ple was given. Both wards joined 'in every thing to make the party a perfect success. |
