Show SEAPLANE FLIGHT ENDED. Pnde of American Navy Completes Trip Across the Atlantic. Plymouth. Seaplane NC-4, pride of the American navy, crossed Plymouth sound Saturday afternoon, May 31, circled the place whence the Pilgrim Fathers sailed in their cockleshell ship for the new world in 1620, and alighted in the Cattewater, her epoch-making transatlantic flight ended. Leaving Ferrol, Spain, at 6:27 Saturday Sat-urday morning, the NC-4 covered the distance of approximately 500 miles to Plymouth in less than seven hours. |
