Show Will Address Local Handcart Fireside . k N f I wy i" i L. TOM PERRY L. Tom Perry, member of the National Bicentennial Advisory Ad-visory Board and Chairman of the Church Bicentennial Committee will be the speaker at the South Davis Handcart Day's Fireside, July 20, 1975, 8 p.m. in the Regional Center. THE PUBLIC is invited. Also featured will be a 70 voice all South Davis area chorus, directed by Viewmont High School Choral Director, Val Lindsey. Elder Perry has been a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Chirist of Latter-day Saints since April 6, 1974. He served as an assistant to the Twelve from October 8, 1972 until his call as one of the Twelve. HE LIVED in Boston and New York for several years where he was successfully engaged in the department store business as vice president of finance and treasurer. His church service began with a mission to the Northern States in 1942, after which he served for two years with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific. He has since served in a ward bishopric, stake high council, councilor in a stake presidency and as president of the Boston Stake. ELDER PERRY received his B.S. Degree in finance at Utah State University in 1949 and did graduate study in 1950. He was bom August 5, 1922 in Logan, and was married in the Logan Temple July 18, 1947 to the former Virginia Lee of Hyde Park, Utah. They were the parents of two daughters and a son. MRS. PERRY died December 14, 1974. Elder Perry and his family reside in Bountiful. |
