A general Invitation to the public, lo attend the formal opening of Him Utah Male capllol Monday, October !i, was Issued Tuesday by Governor William Spry as president of the stale capitol commission and C. It is announced in Ibe in v It at ion that no formal or personal invitations invita-tions will be Issued to the affair and the general invitation issued by the ollicials and handed over to the newspapers news-papers for publication Is the only invitation necessary. To suit tlx- convenience of all, the capitol will be open to visitors both day and evening and a program w III hi' carried out. beginning at 2 p. in., ami at S p. in. a public reception w ill be held in the stale reception room. The lext of the Invitation issued lo the public follows: The new state rapilol will bo formally opened on Monday, October 'J. l'.Uti. and the capitol capi-tol commission takes this means of extending a most cordial invitation in-vitation to all the people of the state to attend and participate in the ceremonies incident to Ibe occasion. It is the desire of the commission commis-sion that the people of I'tah have hii opporl unity lo Inspect the building under-the most favorable fa-vorable circumstances, and for that reason they have arrnnged thai the capilol be thrown open during the afternoon and evening even-ing of that day. Commencing at 2 o'clock in the afternoon an appropriate program of speeches ami music will be rendered and in the evening at X o'clock a public reception will be held in the state reception room. The date for the opening has been fixed with a due regard to the convenience of out-of-town people and has been set for a time when the people of the state ran take advantage of the state fair and conference rates. No formal invitations will be issued, but this general invitation invita-tion 1b extended in the hope that the people of the state will Join in the celebration of the completion of their new home. Miss l'lincus of New York, an ardent ar-dent advocate of Woman Suffrage, came to Mount Pleasant last Tuesday and met with the Relief Society at the North Ward chapel. She made an eloquent plea for the ladies to help elect Hughes. Mrs. Gwendolyn Lewis I, Mile of Salt Lake City met w ith a large number num-ber of ladies of the city last Thursday Thurs-day at the City Hall and organized a Wilson (dub. The club invites all ladies of the city who are in favor of re-electing President Wilson to join the club. The next meeting will be held at the City Hall next Friday at 4 o'clock. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kricksen entertained at a luncheon complimentary to Mr. and, Mrs. C. F. Pelleniere of Kansas City. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Pellemere. Mrs. D.
