Show SOCIAL EVENTS The members of the Epworth League of the M. E. Church and invited in-vited friends were entertained at the church at a candy-pull Saturday evening even-ing October 10th. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments weie served with the candy and a good time was reported by all Little II. T. Wilcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Wilcox celebrated his fifth birthday Monday, October 12th. Games were played and refreshments were served by Mrs. John H. Jensen and Mrs. J. Hansen. Those present were Joseph and Edwin Johnston, Irene and Gerald Petersen, Louise Post, Mary Bjelkie, Lucile Merz, Wil-lard Wil-lard Selhy, Katherine Earl, Willie Coates, Paul Miles, and Kennls and Alden Johansen. Each one was presented pre-sented with a little invitation of a live turtle in a paper basket. Mrs. Martin Aldrich of this city celebrated the 74th anniversary of her birth Wednesday evening, Oct. 14th at her home. It was fittingly observed by a family gathering. The following children were present: Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Aldrich, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Brandon, Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Aldrich, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. ldrich; also her brother Andrew Madsen and wife of Spring City and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Ericksen of Mt. Pleasant. A very nice dinner was served at seven p. m. Beautiful decorations dec-orations were made of autumn leaves ferns and flowers. The evening was pleasantly spent in games and social amusement. |
