Show SUGAR FACTORY IS NOW ASSURED Farmers Ured to Contract More Acreage; Still Short A Few Acres. Geo. E. Browning and associateb are In the County again this week and report that matters In connection whh the sugar factory have now progressed pro-gressed so far and so favorably that there seems no further question about being able to secure a Bufflcl-i Bufflcl-i lit beet acreage lo justify the erection erec-tion of the factory for next year's crop. "It will be necessary, however," sayH Mr. Browning, "That certain localities lo-calities In the County furnish comi-deralde comi-deralde more beet contracts as these sections having only contracted a very small acreage thus far, although there is ample good land that will produce excellent beets." Everyone who can raise an acre of beets must help in this movement in order to insure Its success. Mr. Browning and those working with him expect to visit every section sec-tion of the County during the next week or ten days for the purpose of finishing up the work of securing beet contracts and, as promised, to give the people an opportunity to subscribe sub-scribe for stock in the Sugar company com-pany to be known as the People's Sugar Company. A large number of Sanpete County people asked the privilege of subscribing some of the stock and this privilege to a limited extent will be granted. So sure are the men handling this enterprise that the people of the County will support them with the proper acreage that they have assumed as-sumed the risk of ordering the beet seed so it w ill be on hand in ample time for next year's planting. This has been promised early delivery. In speaking of the matter today Mr. Browning stated that he regarded regard-ed this an opportunity for the people of Sanpete County not only on account ac-count of the benefits that will accrue ac-crue to the communities through the operation of the factory but to those who avail themselves of the opportunity oppor-tunity to' secure some of the capital stock. This will undoubtedly prove a i safe and very profitable investment. I The Layton Sugar Company, for in- stance, organized a little more than . one year ago. after one year's operation opera-tion the stock has doubled in value. Arrangements have been made that those desiring stock may apply to any of the banks of the County w here full information may be obtained regarding re-garding the terms upon which such stocks may be secured. |
