Show Lieut. Howard D. Beckstrom Reported Killed In Action Lieutenant Howard D. Beckstrom, Beck-strom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Beckstrom, 767 Tenth East street, Salt Lake City, husband of Mrs. Norma Knudson Beckstrom, Beck-strom, Brigham City, has been reported killed in action in Italy by the War Department. Lieutenant Beckstrom, who was killed in Italy on December 2, 1943, was born in Salt Lake City May 12, 1920. A graduate of East high school he attended the University Uni-versity of Utah prior to entering the service in March, 1942. He was commissioned in the chemical chemi-cal warfare service corps in November, No-vember, 1942, and resided with his wife at Columbia, N. C, until August, 1943, when he went overseas. over-seas. In addition to his widow and parents, survivors include a sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Paul M. Synder, Lancaster, Lan-caster, Cal.; two brothers, Ensign Calvin F. Beckstrom, stationed at Harvard university, Boston, and Darwin A. Beckstrom, Richmond, California. His father, Arthur Beckstrom, was a former resident of Mount Pleasant. |
