Show i ! MORONI Special Correspondence ! MrsT Lillian Sorenson has returned re-turned home from Pocatello, Idaho Ida-ho where she has been visiting for the past few weeks. Her daughter, Mrs. Leila Home and baby of Richfield have been visiting vis-iting with her for a few days, but they have returned to their home now. The Home Missionaries in Moroni Mo-roni wards last Sunday were all from Fountain Green, Joseph P. Jensen in the East ward and Niels E. Mikkelsen and Matthias Allred in the West ward. Everyone Every-one Dresent enioved their re marks very much. Mr. and Mrs. Dorwal Curtis and family have moved to Garfield Utah this week, where Mr. Curtis has employement. Mrs. Curtis received re-ceived a letter written recently by her son, Harley Bradley, who is a prisoner of war of the German Ger-man Government. He told her that he was safe and well and to not worry for he was alright. Mrs. Curtis felt very much relieved re-lieved for it had been a long time since she had heardd from him, and his many relatives and friends are happy laso for the good word. Supt. Reese Bradley, with other officers and teachers of the West ward Sunday School planned a surpise party on Harold Christensen Christen-sen last Thursday night, where the time was spent in playing games, after which he was presented pre-sented with a book in appreciation apprecia-tion of his work in Sunday school. Delicious refreshments were then served. Harold had just recently resigned as Superintendent of the Sunday School in that West ward. The Jr. borosis ciuo mciuucia were entertained last Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Millie Seeley at Mt. Pleasant where the time was spent in playing "Rook" after which a delicious hot dinner din-ner was served. Mrs. Nellie Blain and children of Spring City have been spending spend-ing a few days with her mother, Mrs. Serena Ostler since the sad news was received of the death of their dear son and brother, and nephew, Grandon Ostler. They have had many kind relatives and friends call at the home to extend their sympathy which has been greatly appreciated. Mr. and Mrs. John K. Pleasant is improving nicely now since being be-ing operated on Monday night for appendicitis at the Dice hospital. hos-pital. Mrs. Van Livingston left Tuesday Tues-day for Fort Knox, Kentucky to visit with her husband since receiving re-ceiving word that he was to leave soon for overseas duty. Rozella and Lois Draper, daughters daugh-ters of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Draper have left for Los Angeles, California Cali-fornia to find employment there. Douglas L. Bradley of the U. S Navy is home on leave visiting relatives and friends at Moroni. He will return to his base in Washington next week. William (Bill) Everitt. son of Mr. and Mrs. James Everitt, and Paul Nielsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nielsen, are both happy to be home after spending a long time overseas. Everyone is glad to welcome them back home a-gain. a-gain. Mrs. Sylvia Larsen has gone to Los Angeles to visit with rela- tives for a month. Mr. and Mrs. Vernile Jensen spent Sunday with relatives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rasmussen and son, Robert of Nephi visited Tuesday with their mother, Mrs. Lillian Sorenson. Mrs. Josiah Blackham received word this week that her son, Stafford Staf-ford Blackham of Lafayette, La. was in a critical condition since undergoing an operation for appendicitis, ap-pendicitis, after which he had developed pleurisy pneumonia, and then took a relapse. Mrs. Blackham left immediately after receiving this message, and a telegram has been received here by relatives stating that she arrived ar-rived there safely and found her son still in a very serious condition. con-dition. His many relatives and friends at home are hoping that the young man will have a complete com-plete and speedy recovery. The "Birthday" club met last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Leona Irons where they enjoyed a pleasant social hour, following which a most delicious hot dinner was served at 6 p, m, Married Peoples Dance j at Moroni, Feb. 1, 1945.
