Mrs. Helen Van Cott Madsen was pleasantly surprised Friday -ve.iing, first by girl students in her English class in the Junior .i.gii scnool, and later in the -vening by relatives and neighbors, neigh-bors, the occasion being her oirthday anniversary. A most enjoyable time was spent by all present. Mrs. Josephine Jensen who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Stena Allred for the pasi six weeks, has returned to her nome in Salina. .Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nielsen and family who have been vis-.ung vis-.ung here and in Mt., Pleasant Anth relatives for a week, left Saturday for their home in Denver, Den-ver, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Cloward j; Aurora motored here and spent Sunday with their mother, Mrs. Stena Allred. On Monday J. Albert Watson, Osman Osborne, Victor Osborne and Monte Sorensen left for Hoi-den Hoi-den to bring their sheep home rom the winter ranges to be sheared and for lambing. C.iris Thompsen, one of Spring City's outstanding citizens celebrated cele-brated with his children and grandchildren his 7oth birthday on April 21st. Mr. Thompsen operated a creamery here for a number of years. He is an oft,-eer oft,-eer of the Spring City Roller Mill and Cedar Creek Irrigation Jompany. A mother and daughter program pro-gram was given in Relief society meeting Tuesday. The oldest mother present was Mrs. Margaret Marg-aret Osborne, 83 years of age. Mrs. Stena Strate had the most daughters and daughters-in-law present, and Mrs. C. Alfred Anderson An-derson was the youngest mother present. Mrs. Mary Sorensen had a daughter and four daughters-in-law present at the gathering. gath-ering. Each was presented A-ith a carnation. Other mem-oers mem-oers of the Relief society exchanged ex-changed gifts. Mrs. Eva Ericksen attended funeral services at Nephi Sunday for her old neighbor, Mrs. Ellen Burdick Lund. |
