Show Plans For Utah's 1944 State State Fair Is Taking Shape Salt Lake City, May 17 (Special) Plans for Utah's 1944 State Fair rapidly took shape today as officials of-ficials in charge of the various general departments reported widespread interest already developing de-veloping in preparations for the exposition to be held here from September 3 to 9. The latest development was announcement by N. Grant Ivins, supervising director of the poultry poul-try department, that the services of Harry Atkins, secretary of the American Poultry Association, with headquarters at Davenport, Iowa, have been obtained to judge exhibits of the poultry department. de-partment. "This will be the first time that Mr. Atkins' services have been secured to judge a State Fair poultry exhibition in Utah, and we naturally are very pleased to get him," Mr. Ivins said. Mr. Ivins explained that the Utah State Fair Association is a member of the American Poultry Association, which promotes all phases of the standard poultry industry. That the poultry show will draw a heavy attendance as well as many exhibits is indicated in the fact, Mr. Ivins said, that many inquiries have been received re-ceived from all parts of the country coun-try with respect to the poultry show. |
