Show The OSA club held its first meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. Ella Candland on last Friday, September 5th. A very delicious luncheon was served, and a business meeting was held. The outgoing officers were presented with a gift. They are Mrs. Mina Stansfield, Sarah Madsen and Mrs. Ella Cand- land. New officers are Mrs. Martina Jensen, president; Mrs. Nellie Madsen, vice president; and Mrs. Mary Davis, secretary and treasurer. Balance of the afternoon was spent in playing rook, completing a very enjoyable enjoy-able afternoon. The Fine Arts Club met at the ihome of Miss Dorothy Peterson last Monday evening to celebrate the tenth birthday of thegroup. Officers in charge of the party were Faun Staker, president; Phyllis Nelson, vice president; and Dorothy Peterson, secretary. They were assisted "oy Mrs. Jewel Sorensom Entertainment was j provided by "Endeus," the ma- gician (stage name of Ned Stansfield). Menu for the dinner served is as follows: fruit cock tail, roast beef, mashed potatoes pota-toes and gravy, diced carrots, stuffed tomato salad, cake and ice cream. Mrs. Kay Beck is a new member of the group. Special speaker at the 100 per cent attendance meeting of the Lions Club held on the mountain moun-tain Wednesday evening was Morris Olsen, who addressed the group on "History of Atomic Energy." Other numbers on the program included several ac-cordian ac-cordian and piano selections by William J. Burton; a report on the International Lions' Convention Conven-tion held recently in San Francisco, Fran-cisco, presented by Lion Rev. E. E. Bollinger; vocal solo, Helen Squires; and pledge of allegiance, alle-giance, led by Lion O. V. Anderson. |
