Show FOUNTAIN GREEN 1 By Special Correspondence 1 News of Service Men Mrs. Beth Oldroyd has received word from the War Department that her husband, Sgt. Lee Jay Oldroyd has been seriously ounded while in combat service in Germany. Sergt. Oldroyd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Oldroyd, and has a son one year old. A graduate of Moroni high school, he has been in service the past two years, but had been in Germany only a week when he was wounded. He was attached to a communications communi-cations division. His parents and wife, Mrs. Beth Higginson Oldroyd Old-royd live at Fountain Green. Cpl. Max A. Livingston, son of Mrs. Lena Livingston, has returned re-turned to the United States, after spending 32 months in foreign service. Cpl. Livingston is with the Engineering Regiment and is expected soon in his home town on a furlough. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Rasmussen have received jvord that their sbn, Pvt. GayleRasmussen,"now n the South Pacific, belongs to the 27th Infantry Division Band. A dance for the following inductees in-ductees was held Thursday evening: eve-ning: Burnell Aagard, Allan Mikkelson, Harvey Madsen, El-vin El-vin Ho'.man, Frank Holman and Bruce Holman and was sponsored by the City Officials and the A- Social News Mr. and Mrs. Reed Oldroyd and son of Portland, Oregon, have been visiting for a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin' P. Oldroyd before leaving for their new home in Philadelphia. Mrs. Francis J. Holman had as her guests Sunday her two grand daughters and their husbands ol Salt Lake City. Mrs. Erda Cook entertained at a birthday party Monday evening at her home. Mrs. Dorothy Oldroyd was a Salt Lake City visitor during the week. Mrs. Ilean Sardoni was hostess to the K. K. club members Wednesday Wed-nesday evenin. A delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served and Rook was the evening's diversion. Mrs. Don Prestwich was a Salt Lakejpity visitor during the week. The Literary club members entertained en-tertained at a party Friday afternoon af-ternoon in honor of Mrs. Rena Crowther, who leaves soon fo Hazelton, Idaho, where she will spend the winter with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Lee Coulsen and family. Mrs. Myrum Lund has returned home after visiting for some time with her children in Ogden, Salt Lake City and Provo. Mrs. Carl Wetmore and daughter daugh-ter of Grand Island, Nebraska are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Ivory. Miss Carolyn Goble of Nephi is visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence W. Hansen. Mrs. Dee Hansen and children of Salt Lake City are visiting with relatives. Mr.and Mrs. Iyan Bailey have taken their son, Merrill to Salt Lake City for medical treatment. Miss Janice Olsen, who is attending at-tending the University of Utah, visited Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Olsen. Births Announced Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Ivory have announced the birth of a grandson, grand-son, born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hansen of Tooele, Utah. The mother, was before her marriage, Miss Lois Ivory of Fountain Green. |
