Show H. E. Johnson Appointed Manager of Richfield Office Appointment of Harry E. Johnson John-son as manager of the Richfield, Utah, Field Off.ce of the Federal Social Security Board was announced an-nounced in Denver, May 29th by Hdber R. Harper, director of this Kocky Mountain region of the Board. Mr. Johnson, a Utah man, has been with the ' Social Security Board since July 1936. Formerly on the staff of the regional office in Denver, he became a member of the Salt Lake City Field Office Of-fice staff in July 1940. Prior to his appointment to the Board, Mr. Johnson was with the Treasury Treas-ury Department in Washington, D. C, for two years. He attended attend-ed the University of Utah. The new Richfield manager -akes the position vacated by the appointment of former Manager Sherman H. Ruesch as assistant manager in the Salt Lake City office. The Social Security Board now has three f.eld offices in Utah, ihe Richfield office in the Petersen Peter-sen Bank Building was established establish-ed .n December 1939 to serve the counties of Beaver, Emery, Garfield, Gar-field, Iron, Kane, Millard, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, Washington and Wayne. In addition to Richfield, other field offices in the State are located in the Union Pacific Euilding, Salt Lake City, and the Fprlpral "RnilHint? OcfHcin Payments under the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance program are now being made to qualified commercial or industrial indus-trial worker who retires after age 65, to his wife at age 65, to his children under 18 years of age; or at his death, whatever his age, to the surviving widow and young children, or, in some cases, to dependent parents. "Today more than 200,000 workers in Utah have accounts established for them under this Federal program, while throughout through-out the Nation there are 53 million mil-lion workers investing in their own future through Old-Age and Survivors Insurance," Regional Director Harper said. "More than 1,000 checks are being mailed mail-ed each month and more than 260 lump-sum death payments have been made to Utah beneficiaries bene-ficiaries under this part of the social security program. "Service to the public on problems prob-lems connected with retirement and survivors' insurance payments pay-ments is provided by the Richfield Rich-field Field Office. In addition to receiving claims for the payment pay-ment of insurance to persons C3vered by the law, the Richfield office issues Social Security account ac-count number cards and advises potential beneficiaries and the public on the provisions of the law." |
