Mr. Taylor Tay-lor was accompanied by his wife and another Idaho couple. They were proceeding north. Investigating officers, including includ-ing Mr. Peterson, stated that Jones said he was blinded by the headlights of the other machine ma-chine and hence drove partly into it's path. Although no serious seri-ous injuries resulted in the highway collision, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor's car received $300 damage dam-age and the Jones car S-00. according ac-cording to investigating officers. Meamvhile Dr. S. B. Rigby. chairman of the Sanpete county commission, called for stricter enforcement of traffic laws relative rela-tive to car lights. "Not only are there numerous i violations on the part of the drivers failing to dim their lights while approaching other cars," Dr. Rigby declared, "but there are too many instances of drivers on our highways with glaring headlights, only one headlight, and other defects." "It is up to our local, county and state highway officers to intensify their efforts in traffic law enforcement right now," the county commissioner said. "Otherwise we shall have still more accidents like those which have occurred so recently here. We must all be particularly careful in this cold icy weather the most dangerous time for the driver," Dr. Rigby said. |
