Show Annual Day Is Celebrated Here Flag decorated streets and a ' noon band concert by the Hamil- ton school band directed by Marsden Allred greeted guests' and citizens of this city on the annual celebration of the Mount Pleasant Pioneer Historical Association As-sociation held here on March 5th. Guests assembled at L p. m. at the L. D. S. chapel of the South Ward for Social Hour. During Dur-ing this time music was furnished fur-nished by the Shepherd String Trio. A reception committee attired in colorful costumes of early days and western regalia greeted the public as they arrived for the general meeting held at 2 p. m. in the Recreation Hall at which, the following program was presented: pre-sented: Greetings by President James Monsen. Vocal trio, Thelma Madsen, Ethel L. Ericksen and Alice P. Hafen. Invocation, by Bishop J. Seymour Sey-mour Jensen. Minutes were read by Hilda Longsdorf. Vocal solo, hv n An address, by S. M. Nielsen. Dramatization, of "Home on The Range," directed by Mrs. J. Ben Staker. The following participated par-ticipated in the dramatization: Barber Shop Quaurtette, Keith Rigby, Duane Jensen, Bob Anderson And-erson and Deon Sanderson; Ladies La-dies Trio, Thelma Madsen, Ethel L. Ericksen and Alice P. Hafen; Dress Parade, Gwendolyn Kay, Marjorie W. Pratt, Arclee B. Larsen, Lar-sen, Mrs. Brough and Verda Jensen. Jen-sen. Accompanist, Mrs. Edna A. Maughn. Dancers, Donna Lou Ericksen, La Von Squire, Patricia String-ham, String-ham, Audrey Jones, Betty Gunderson, Gund-erson, Donna Fern Neilson Ge-niel Ge-niel Peterson and Roxie Nelson. A bouquet of roses was presented pre-sented to Brigham Porter, the only man living in Mt. Pleasant, .vlio was here in 1859. The bendiction was offered by bishop O. M. Aldrich. There were in attendance at .he meeting 775 people . Following the program, all pio-. pio-. leers and out of town guests were honored at a reception and tea. The dance in the National event of the celebration. The iheme was "Western" and Indians, Indi-ans, Cow Girls, Cow Boys, Pio-.leers, Pio-.leers, Gay Nineties and 1944 .haigled together. The day was a fine success and to all the committees, all' program participants, Mr. Allred and the Hamilton School band, the Bishopric of the South Ward, Emil Rutishauser and anyone who in anyway was of assistance in the success of the day, is extended ex-tended thanks and appreciation for their fine efforts and coopera-toin coopera-toin in making the day one of the best of our celebrations.
