Show i FAIRVIEW i By Special Correspondence Mrs. Sa ah Ed.-,aj;ds Llewellyn, Llewel-lyn, b9, died here iasc Monday at the home of a son, Hayden, after ' a iong illness of heart disease. She was born February 6, 1877 at New Tridegar, Nom-month Nom-month Shire, Wales, a daughter daugh-ter of William and Catherine Harris Edwards. S.:e immigrated immi-grated to the United States in 1902 and had since made her home in Wales. She is survived by a son, Hayden Llewellyn, Fairview; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Dyches, Salt Lake City; a sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Hannah Stevens, New Kennsington, Pennsylvania; a brother, John Edwards, Wales, British Is'es, and eight grandchildren. grand-children. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Thursday in the Wales ward chapel by Lloyd Price, bishop. Interment was in the Wales city cemetery under the direction of Madsen and Jacobs mortuary. Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Johnson and family of Fountain Green were visitors here Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Maltland Graham and family. Mrs r,pmma Madsen enter tained Monday evening in honor of her husband Glen's birthday anniversary. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served to twelve guests. The evening was spent in playing cards. Mrs. Ardys B. Tidwell of Moroni Mo-roni has been visiting here with her aunt, Mrs. June Jensen for a few days. Mrs. Tim Fowels returned home last week from Berkeley, California, where she has been visiting with her son Grant R. Fowles and family. Mr. and Mrs.- Grant R. Fowles are the proud parents of a baby girl born October 2nd. Mrs. Lila G. Seely and baby are visiting here with her parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. Ira Garlick. Her husband, Merrill Seely has gone to Oregon where he has employment. . A Relief Society social was held Tuesday afternoon m tne South ward chapel in honor ot the visiting teachers of both Fairview wards. The program was as follows: Invocation, Hilda Hil-da Garlick; congregational singing, sing-ing, "Count Your Blessings ; tribute to the visiting 'teachers, Beth Carlston; accordian solo, Mary Larsen; duet, Oleah Cox, Sarah Rigby; reading, Ellen Nordstrom ; w o m a n s sextet, "The Glow Worm"; piano solo, Ida Day; talks by the Stake officers offi-cers Pearl Winkler and Relia Larsen of Mt. Pleasant; benediction, bene-diction, Helen Bonne. Ross Mower returned home this week after a short visit to CaKdM. Mr. Harold York of Bend, Oregon Ore-gon is spending deer season here with Mr. and Mrs. Ira Garlick and with Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Seely of Mt. Pleasant. The Fairview North and South wards Relief Societies will hold a social Tuesday, Oct. 29th in the South ward chapel in honor of the visiting teachers. All women are invited. She met three Utah missionaries mis-sionaries while there. On her return home she stopped in Sail Lake City where she visited for a week wtih Mr. and Mrs. Rex Turpin. Mr. and Mrs. Burnel Harvey and family of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Emma Cox and family Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Anderson, Ander-son, Moroni and Mr. and Mrs. Kay Scovil were week end visitors visi-tors here at the home of their mother, Mrs. Luella Cox. Dick Mower of Provo spent the week end here with his grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Mower. Dick is attending the Bringham Young University. Mrs. Lionel Peterson entertained entertain-ed October 14th at a party honoring honor-ing her daughter, Katherine's 8th birthday anniversary. The after-noon after-noon was spent in playing games and refreshments were served to thirty-two guests. I Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Johnson j of Horicon, Wisconsin and Mr. and Mrs. Mondell Stewart, Logan spent deer season here with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson accompanied their children, Mr. and Mrs. Mondell Stewart to Logan where they will visit a short time. Hunters News Hugh and Ralph Burnside of Salt Lake City spent the weekend here hunting. Mr. Glen Vance thinks it very unpleasant being between city hunters and a buck deer. P.S. They missed Glen and also the buck. The brother of Mrs. Loren Brady his friends and their brother-were brother-were deer hunters here for thr week end. Phil Hurst lost his two trust-hounds trust-hounds while lion hunting. Tr-r got off on the trail of a bear anc disappeared. Even with the prospects pros-pects of deer hunting coming u he was heart broken. The dogr got lost Thursday,- and he spent a sleepless night and found them on Friday. Sam Vance of Spring Canyon spent the week end here deer hunting. Bart Olsen of Salt Lake C't; hunted deer with Ted Lasson ove: the week end here. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Christensen have received word that their son Jerry who is attending the school of Pharmacy at the University of Southern Idaho, was recently made a member of Phi Delta Chi, National Pharmacy and Chemistry Chemis-try fraternity. They have one other son, R. J. Christensen, attending at-tending the same school and he is also a member of Phi Delta Chi. |
