The ceremony was performed on June 29tln by Bishop Morris Jensen at the home of itltoe bride's parents. A wedding supper lAas served ito the two families after which the young couple left for a Ihoneymooni trip to the canyons of southern Utah and' California. The Moroni Stake Relief Society So-ciety presidency was reorganized last Sunday at Stake Leaidershitp meeting. Mrs. Lillian Ivory, as president, 'with Anna Cook 'and Idena Crowther as counselors, were released. The neiw officers offi-cers sustained were Mrs. (Leona Irons as Stake president with Blanche Sorenson and Mella Morley as counselors. Mr. and Mrs. Conard Monson and baby of Ely, Nevada, are visiting here witb his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Monson, while Ihe is recovering from a kg injury. Miss Lois Yorgason is now arm-ployed arm-ployed at the Anderson Drug Store. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Vanice and son, Paul Ohristeinsen and Bill Milliken of Murray, spent Saturday Satur-day evening and Sunday iwith relatives here. Mrs. Lucy Blackham entertained enter-tained at a shower last Friday evening in honor of her daughter daugh-ter Deniece, who was married recEni.liy to Corporal Shirley i.VIadsen. A large number was io attendance 'to enjoy the splendid program after which delicious refreshments were served. Many beautiful and useful gifts iwere l.:resen'ted to them. Mrs. John K. Guymon of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Theressa Richards and daughter Ina of Plea:ant Grove came here to attend the shower as well as i'riends from Mt. Pleasant. The 4-H Club of Moroni West ward was recently organized under un-der direction of the supervisor, Mrs. Bffie Blackham. The leaders lead-ers are Mrs. Celia Morley and Mrs. Margaret Jaoobson. There are eighteen enrolled and they i.meet semi-weekly. Lizzie Weston is recovering from a recent fall in which she received a badly fractured arm. Mrs. Zell Robertson has returned re-turned home from a itiwo weeks visit in St. George. She was accompanied ac-companied home by her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Clark Tobler and two-year-old daughter who will visit here for a few day. Darwin Curtis of Garfield is pending a few days with his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Alniderson. Miss Bonnie Morley is spending spend-ing her vacation witlh relatives in Salt Lake City. Mrs. L;na Livingston; of Fountain Foun-tain Green spent Monday with Mrs. Ross Livingston and Mrs. Celia Morley. Miss Verdean Morley who has employment in Salt Lake City speni Independence Day with r.latives and friends here. Miss Oamille Thompson of Epihriaim and Miss Carol Nielsen of Beaver are visiting for a few weeks wi.hi their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jabez Faux. Mrs. William (Brandon of Mer-cur, Mer-cur, Mrs. William Madseni of Provo and Mrs. Edward Nielsen of Fountain Green came here for July 3rd, that day being the 78th bir.ihday anniversary of their mother, Mrs. George H. Draper. IMrs. Draper and daughter Hazel will return with' Mrs. Madsen to Provo and visit there a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson of Fountain Green are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy on July 4th at Dice hospital. The mother was formerly Miss Jenna Vee Hill of that city. Miss Lucy Dice of Seattle, Washington, is spending a few days at the home of Mrs: H. E. Dice and ifamily. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Faux and ion Jos'Ei;lhi spent last weekend -with friends in Salt Lake City. A large number of people were out to celebrate Independence Day at Moroni. At 2:30 a mat inee was held. At 4:dU p. m. children's races were held on the West ,ward lawn with prizes being be-ing given and free candy to all who. participated. At 6:30 a dance for the children was held and the activities of the day closed' clos-ed' wi.lhi a dance in Jioyland in the evening. The monthly agricultural troeet-ir.g troeet-ir.g was held Tuesday evening at Maple Canyon iwiuh, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Westenskow as host and hostess. Hot dinner was served to Superintendent and Mrs. J. R. Ba-gnall, Mr. and Mrs. V:rn Gunderson, Lloyd Olsew of Mt. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. Ur-vin Ur-vin Hearie, Gunnison; Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Alder, Mr. and Mrs. E'.mer Gibson, Manti; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Blaiser, Ephraim; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kelson and Mr. and Mrs. Spafford Sumsion of Moroni. The men spent the evening going over agricultural problems. |
