Show I FAIRVIEW ! By Special Correspondence 1 1 Fairview ushered in the Christ-1 mas season th.s year with a i oeautiful and unusual lighting display on main street. This year's Christmas decorations decora-tions are probably the most elaborate of any previous years. ; High in the center of main street j hangs a large glittering star with long strings of brightly colored iights droped from it. A Christ-! mas tree is also placed in a very j decorative position, high above 1 ihe street. This excellent light-1 ing display is seen c.early iroin anvolace in town. ! On the city hail grounds has been placed a gigancic Christmas Christ-mas tree, yet to be decorated. Along with these decorations put up by the city in the spirit of the holiday season, are the well arranged and beautiful decorations dec-orations put up by the merchants mer-chants and other business men of the communuity. Alta Osborne and Verda Amundsen of Fairview visited in Provo last week. A married folks dance was held in Fairview last Friday, with old time music being played. play-ed. The married folks seemed to enjoy it very much. Miss LeRue Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Tucker of Fairview, spent a short time visiting here last week with her folks and relatives. Miss Tucker s at present completing a course in nursing at the General Hospital Hospi-tal in Salt Lake City. She returned return-ed to Salt Lake City Sunday morning. ivirs. Kanda Coombs of Fair-view Fair-view entertained her bridge club Wednesday evening at her- home All members were present, to whom an exceptionally fine lunch was served. Mrs. Lorna Tucker won first prize. Mrs. Roma Tucker won consolation prize. Mr. Reed Briggs made a trip to Salt Lake City last week. He returned Monday. Red is Fair-view's Fair-view's newest barber. . The three on act plays presented present-ed by the Fairview North ward Mutual last Tuesday evening were a great success in the opinion opin-ion of the townspeople. The dramatic and emotional "So Wonderful in White," had many people on the edge of their seats and biting their fingernails. The other two plays were equally equal-ly as well executed and present; ed. Mr. and Mrs. John Nordstrom of Fairview made a trip to Clear Creek, Utah last week for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Reuben White and other friends there. Mrs. Vern Sanderson just returned re-turned this week from Stockton, Utah where she visited her daughter, Mrs. Gerald Neilson. Miss Ellis Amundson was a visitor in Provo Sunday and Monday. . The Saturday night dance m Fairview last week was a very successful one. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Neilson of Latudia, Utah visited in Fa r-view r-view last week for a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. FranK 'Tucker and other relatives. Eddy Lasson, the small son off Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lasson of;' Fairview, underwent quite a: serious operation on one of his fingers last week. It is reported that an Elders party will be held Friday night. The Elder's parties of this community com-munity are very much lookea forward to events. This is probably because of their great success in the past. Mr and Mrs. J. A. Larsen o: Fairview left for Flint, Michigan last week. They made the trip for the purpose of obtaining a i inew truck. This should afford a jveiy interesting trip for Mr. 'and Mrs. Larson. This new addit.on makes a very marked improvement on the chapel. Mrs. Mildred Lasson entertained enter-tained her bridge club this week. Ail of the memoers' spent a very enjoyable evening. Newell J. White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. White of the McKennon, Wyoming returned to Fa rview this week. He will attend the Snow College this year. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Pehrson, former residents of Fairview and who just recently observed their Golden Wedding anniversary, are leaving for Chicago Illlinois th.s week to spend the Christmas Christ-mas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. I Pehrson are now living in Salt! Lake City. The South ward Mutual of Fairview will present their three one act plays next Tuesday evening at the South Ward amusement hall. These plays are expected to be very high in entertainment en-tertainment value and all in the ; Community are urged to attend. The Boy Scouts and Van -1 guards of the Fairview North Ward Mutual had a novel experience ex-perience last week when they practiced send ng telegraph messages mes-sages to each other at the homes of Mr. Fred Anderson and Mr. Arthur Sundwall. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Amundsen of Tooele, Utah were Fairview visitors last week at the home of Mj. and Mrs. Oscar Amundsen. They returned to Tooele the first part of the week. 'Fairview, came home from Salt j Lake last week end to spend a few days with her parents. Bishop Golden Carlston of the Fairview North Ward was a Salt Lake visitor last week. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Nielson, ' formerly of Fairview, but now j living in Stockton, Utah are the: happy parents of a baby girl born to them this week. A junior b;Th school band; meeting was held in the Fair-' view high school gym Wednes-I day evening. This meeting was; comprised chiefly of the band j mothers. High score way won by Lola Fowells and second prize by Mrs. Laura Vance. Mr. and Mrs. Faye Sidwell of Fa rvicw are rejoicing over the birth of a baby girl born to them op the Dili. The south ward chorus of Fairview hald a very successful party at the South ward amusement amuse-ment hall, Friday evening. The evening was started with an excellent ex-cellent dinner and program. After this the chorus members engaged in dancing. Mr. Truman Wilcox of Fair-view, Fair-view, was married, Monday 9th to Miss Bertha Allen of Shelley, Idaho. The couple were married in the Manti Temple with President Presi-dent Young off.ciating. Miss Allen is a grandaughter of Sim Allen, a person whom the older people of Fairview will probably remember. The wedding was celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Cox in Fairview. Approx'mately thirty guests attended. Many beautiul fcifts were re-ce'ved. re-ce'ved.
