Show University Building f7ets Face Lifting The University of Utah's time-hallowed time-hallowed Park building is getting its face lifted. During the past week building ciews swarmed over the white structure as part of the initial phases of remodeling the building build-ing to house the world-famous Hudnut art collection. Mrs. Winifred Kimball Hudnut, Hud-nut, widow of the late Richard Hudnut, famous perfume manufacturer, manu-facturer, recently announced the donation of the collection to the University if a suitable plac: were made available. The art department which formerly occupied oc-cupied the top floor of the building build-ing in January moved to begir an Art Center on the Fort Douglas Doug-las campus. Remodelling of the Park building followed soon af ter. Much of the work will be done on the marble foyer of the building which will be widened land modernized, according to Dr. A. Ray Olpin, president of the University. Eventually the building will be given a new front on the east in order that it might face both the present main campus to the west and the proposed new campus to the ;ast which will be built upon property formerly part of historic his-toric Fort Douglas. Remodelling, which will include in-clude an elevator, will be completed com-pleted in about six months. |
