Show Owens Submits Utah Farm Plan to H. A. Wallace W. W. Owens, assistant director of the Utah State Agricultural college col-lege exension service, left last week for Washington, D. C. to deliver tc Secretary Wallace the recommendations recommenda-tions of Utah's state AAA committee, commit-tee, technicail committee, forest service, serv-ice, extensicn service, experiment tation a; id department of agriculture, agricul-ture, concerning the 1937 agricultural agricul-tural program. Representatives cf these agencies met December 28 at the state college col-lege to outline a procedure for compliance in the agricultural conservation con-servation p'cgram and to make-certain make-certain suggestions to be incorporated incorpor-ated in the national plan. The following practices were considered: con-sidered: irrigation improvements, weed control, green manure crops, sugar beet practices, mulching in erchat ds, summer fallow, turning land back to native siate, gully ccntrol, terracing, fertilizing, pasture pas-ture improvement, res-eeding wild hay land, rodent control, deferred grazing range land, limited grazing ranpe land, rotation grazing range land, and others. No definite report on the recommendations recom-mendations will be released until Secretary Wallace gives his cffissial approval, Mr. Owens said. It was thought -by officials that this release re-lease would be forthcoming within a few days. |
