Show Program For EducationWeek The next time you pass a school paus3 a moment to think what that school means to humanity. Recall the long, dark centuries when the masses were kept in ignorance ig-norance when greed and oppression oppres-sion ruled the world with an iron hand. From the very beginning cf man's struggle for knowledge, self-respect, and the recognition of his inalienable rights, the school has been his greatest ally. We refer re-fer to the school as "common," because be-cause it belongs to us all; it is ourselves our-selves working together in the ed-uealion ed-uealion of our children. But it is a moat uncommon institution. It is relatively new. It is democracy's democ-racy's greatest gift to civilization. Throughout the world, among upward up-ward struggling peoples, wherever parents share in the aspirations of their children, the American school is being copied. Let us cherish and improve our schools. American Education Week will be observed in the North Sanpete high school November fifth to the ninth.
