Show Canadian Governor Gets Opinions From Ministry The governor general of Canada, who Is appointed by the king of England as his representative in Canada, is bound by the terms ot his commission, and can exercise only such authority as is expressly entrusted him. The Canadian Year Book states that the governor general gen-eral acts under the advice of his ministry, which Is responsible to parliament, and as the acting head of the executive, summons, prorogues, pro-rogues, and dissolves parliament, and assents to or reserves bills. In the discharge of these and other executive ex-ecutive duties he acts entirely by and with the advice of his ministry. minis-try.
