Show - I I SPRING CITY j I By Special Correspondence ! Mrs. Sarah L. Larsen Hansen, 51, died at her residence in Spring City at 11 a. m. Saturday after a lew days' illness of lnfluenlza resulting re-sulting in an abscess; forming at the base ctf her tongue, thje poison causing- her death. She was born ir. Spr'njf City, April '7, ' 1,854, m dauehtpr of Har E. Lorsen ' and EUzabeth Davidson. She attended the local schools here and was a member cf the Church. On July 9, 1902, she was married to Orson P. Hansen in the Mantl Temple, with President John MoCallister officiating. For nine years she has cared fcr an invalid aunt, Mrs. Josephine Christensen. She was the mother of eleven children, seven 1 vlng. She is survived sur-vived by her husband, Orson P. Hansen, her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth D. Larsen of this city, and the following children: Mrs. Gladys Jensen, Mountain City, Nevada; Mrs. Edith Nielsen. Mrs. Eura Shields, Salt Lake; Mrs. Lois Jensen, Jen-sen, Tooele; Mrs. Dcra Nellsen, Tremonton, Mrs. Lucil'e Synder-faard, Synder-faard, and Amasa Hansen:, Spring City: also four grandch ldren and two sisters, Mrs. Rose S. Peterson, Spring City, and Mrs. Aligee An-dei-son of Moroni. Most touching funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Spring City ward chiapel for Mrs. Hansen with Bishop James F. Ellis officiating. Music was furn-irhed furn-irhed by the ward cho'r with E. B. Terry directing. The first song was "I've Read of a Beautiful City" with Mr. Terry singing the solo part; a vocal duet by Mr. Reese and Mrs. Kate Lewis of Wales, "O My Father"; a solo, "That Wonderful Wonder-ful Mother of Mine'" was sung by Mrs. Rose Schofield; the closing song by the choir was "Sometime We'll Understand." Prayers were offered by John Peterson and Warner Christensen. The speakers were Freeman Allred! of Idaho, W.Uiam Lee Allred of Spring City, Bishop Morgan Lamb of Moroni, and remarks by Bishop Ellis. Interment In-terment was in the family plot in the Spring City cemetery under the direction of the Jacobs Mortuary. People came from far and near to pay respect and offer sympathy to the bereaved family. The many flcral offerings as well as the goodly good-ly number of people in attendance bearing witness to the respect held for Mrs. Hansen Six sons-'n-law I .. i I : i- ' ' acted as pallbearers. Among the people who came from out of town to attend the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Free-man Al'red of Idaho, Henry Hansen Han-sen and daughter, Mrs. Christine Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Max Thompson, Mrs. Hugh) Wlllcox, Mrs. Paul Loukau of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. George Cox of Mirivrile, Prior Q, Larsen of Prpvo;, Mrs,. Hftt-vry Thompson' erf Ephraim, Mr. an4 Mrs. Jlclin Jfavpn, Mrs. Niels Rasrmtssen cf Mt. Pleasant. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Beck and daughter of Rupert, Idaho, visited here with relatives. They came here especially to visit with Char-1'e Char-1'e Beck, who is very sick at the present time. Everett Strate made a business trip to Nephi on Friday of last week. Mrs. Sarah Clausen who has spent a few months In Salt Lake City has returned home. She was accompanied by her grandson, Frank Watson. Lynn Barny is home from the West desert for a short visit with his family before going out sheep shearing1. Mrs. Olive Coleman represented the local Camp of the Daughters cf the Utah P oneers at the State Convention held in Salt Lake City Monday. Mrs. Coleman is the captain cap-tain of the Spring City Camp. More than thirty Spring City people attended conference In Salt Lake City last weekend. Gregson Scihlctfield took a kad down in the school bus. others went in their own automobiles. Mrs. W lliam Greenhagh and two children of Idaho Falls, have been visiting here with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Puzey for the past three weeks. Mrs. Melissa Blain Is very ill at her home here. |
